GRAVES DISTURBIOS EN CONCIERTO EN BOGOTA

BOGOTA -- Millares de personas que pugnaban por entrar el domingo en la noche al concierto ofrecido por el grupo de rock norteamericano Guns N' Roses, protagonizaron graves disturbios, informaron el lunes fuentes oficiales.

El Comandante de la Policia de Bogota, coronel Guillermo Leon Dietes, dijo que millares de jovenes, algunos drogados o embriagados, entre los cuales se habian mezclado delincuentes, se dedicaron a atacar almacenes, edificios y automoviles.

Propietarios de 15 edificios residenciales dijeron que los revoltosos quebraron vidrios, rompieron puertas y ventanas y saquearon todo lo que pudieron. Alrededor de 100 vehiculos fueron apedreados o desvalijados. "Muchos de los revoltosos eran hijos de gente adinerada que se movilizaban en lujosos automoviles lanzando piedras y disparos al aire", dijo la senadora independiente Regina Betancourt de Liska, cuya residencia fue atacada por los vandalos.

"No hemos cuantificado todavia el monto de las perdidas, pero se indemnizara a los damnificados", dijo el alcalde Jaime Castro, quien tambien participo en la conferencia de prensa. Agrego que la indemnizacion correra a cargo de los organizadores del espectaculo o de la alcaldia.

En los disturbios resultaron heridos 20 policias que enfrentaron a los revoltosos con gases lacrimogenos y garrotes, de los cuales 10 tuvieron que ser atendidos en hospitales. Hay tambien seis detenidos, incluso algunos de los saqueadores, dijo el general Dietes.

En medio de los disturbios, bandas de ladrones aprovecharon la confusion y se dedicaron a robar a los espectadores cuando salian del estadio de futbol El Campin, donde se organizo el concierto. A muchos jovenes los atracadores los obligaron a despojarse de sus chaquetas o chamarras y de sus zapatos de tenis. Los ladrones hirieron a punaladas a cuatro, dijeron testigos.

Fernando Pava, uno de los empresarios, dijo en un comunicado que los disturbios fueron causados por gente "ajena al espectaculo, el cual transcurrio en completa calma".

El comandante de la policia de Bogota informo que los disturbios comenzaron cuando las fuerzas del orden repelieron a millares de jovenes que intentaban entrar al estadio sin boleto, aunque reconocio que tambien fueron rechazados algunos que lo tenian, porque el estadio ya estaba lleno.
